Choir Desks

Freestanding, height-adjustable desks in solid oak, designed for the way a choir actually rehearses.

A desk that moves with the choir

The reading surface sits at 18 degrees and adjusts through ten inches in nine steps, from 40" to 50" at the front edge, so one desk serves a seated adult, a standing adult or a chorister. A wooden peg through the post sets the height: lift the top, move the peg, set it down. No knobs to strip and no metal to rattle.

Sizes and versions

Made in 30", 48", 60", 72" and 96" lengths, or to order. Allow about 24" per adult and 18" per chorister; the 8' desk gets a centre leg so the shelf never sags. Choose a fixed music shelf with a book stop, or a hymnal slot that rides with the reading surface.

The same choir desk at its lowest and highest settings, 40 and 50 inches at the front edge

Solid oak, or Baltic birch

Made in quartersawn white oak with housed joints and brass screws, finished in a hardwax oil that can be renewed in place. For a lighter budget, the same desk comes in Baltic birch with sanded, finished edges. Every desk comes from one CAD model, is CNC-cut, then fitted and finished by hand in Phoenixville and set up in your choir room.
